For any tree that needs a PTC tree-removal permit, the City requires the contractor’s current Occupational Tax Certificate (business license) and an insurance declaration page showing general liability and workers’ compensation. Homeowners should get these documents from the contractor before work starts.

The best-evidenced out-of-town option for big or tricky PTC removals. Ask which arborist (with ISA number) will assess the tree, and confirm the address on the insurance certificate.
