RESEARCH-BASED REVIEW, NOT A FIRST-HAND VISIT. Everything below comes from the public sources listed at the end, which were accessed on 2026-10-11. No one from this site has had a vehicle serviced here for this review. Workmanship scores are provisional.
| Overall | 7.9 / 10 (★★★★, “Very good”) |
| Confidence | High. Sources: official site, AAA (third-party program), BBB profile, a Google-derived review listing, and a cross-check against a competing shop’s AAA listing |
| Category | Auto Repair (moved to /reviews/auto/ on 2026-10-11) |
| Last verified | 2026-10-11 |
Score change (2026-10-11): 8.1 → 8.2. Why: added the 10% recent-customer-experience component (score 8.6, n=8).
Score change (2026-10-11, browser-confirmed BBB/Yelp check): 8.2 → 7.9. Why: Reputation 9 → 8: Yelp 4.0 from 23 (read on screen) is polarized, with recent reports of paid work not done (one $2,450 case), so reputation is not consistent across platforms.
Score check (2026-10-11, auto category build): 7.9 → 7.9 (no change). Re-checked AAA’s Peachtree City directory: it lists only Earl’s and Theo’s Automotive in PTC (next nearest AAA shop is 9.6 miles away), so Earl’s AAA status is confirmed and its “only AAA Approved shop in Fayette County” claim stays contradicted. Recent customer experience recomputed with the 2026-10-11 auto lexicon additions: still 8.6 (n=8). Google-derived list snapshot: 4.8 from 398 (Exa list, https://exa.ai/library/places?q=69bacca51222faf2). CARFAX and RepairPal remain blocked (not bypassed).
General maintenance, oil changes, brakes, A/C (including R-1234yf systems), computer diagnostics, emissions, engine and transmission repair, exhaust, axles, and wheel alignment [1]. AAA’s listing adds diesel diagnostics, hybrid powertrains, and steering/suspension [2]. AAA members must show a card to get the AAA benefit, and it can’t be combined with other specials [2].
From the most recent reviews shown on the Google-derived listing (Oct 2025 to Mar 2026, all 5★) [2b]: – Turnaround: several reviewers describe same-day work and fitting them in on short notice. One brake job was finished earlier than promised, and an alternator and battery replacement took about 1.5 hours. – Honesty and explanation: reviewers repeatedly say staff explain the work, don’t upsell, and charge fair prices. – Front-desk staff: one service advisor is named in several reviews. – Repeat customers: multiple reviewers say they’ve brought several vehicles over time.
Not counted: a search-engine summary cites CARFAX at about 4.8/5 from about 235 verified reviews, with mentions of shuttle pickup/drop-off. That page timed out in our tools, so the shuttle claim is unverified. Limitation: we only saw the most recent positive reviews, not the low-star ones. – Recent reviews (last 24 months, n=8): most-mentioned compliments: friendly / courteous (5), fast / same-day (4), knowledgeable (2); complaints: none. Other platforms are covered in “Other review platforms” below.

|---|---|
| State licensing | Georgia does not license auto repair shops as businesses; ASE certification is the industry’s main credential. ASE is claimed [1] but individual technician certificates weren’t verified. |
| AAA Approved Auto Repair | Verified on aaa.com [2] |
| BBB | A+, not Accredited; file opened 10/9/2002; corporation [3] |
| Claim: “the only AAA Approved Automotive Repair shop in Fayette County” [1] | Contradicted. AAA’s directory also lists Theo’s Automotive (304 Dividend Dr, Peachtree City) as a AAA Approved facility [4]. |
| Claim: “family-owned” and “100% Employee Owned” [1] | These two descriptions are hard to reconcile. Ask the shop and report its answer. |
| Years in business | Site says 32 years [1]; BBB and AAA say since 1991 [2][3] |
| Address/phone/hours | Inconsistent across site, AAA, and BBB (see Quick facts) |
None of these are signs of bad work. They point to outdated or careless marketing copy, and that is why the transparency score is lower.
No labor rate, diagnostic fee, or menu prices are published on the pages we read [1][2]. The value assessment relies on reviewer comments about “fair” pricing [2b] and the 24/24 warranty [1].

No profile found, or blocked by a bot check: Birdeye, Facebook, HomeAdvisor, Angi, Houzz, Thumbtack, Porch, Trustpilot. We did not get around any bot check. Trustpilot, Yelp, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Houzz and BBB profile pages blocked automated access, and Facebook requires a login. Rows marked “browser read (confirmed)” were read on screen in a browser session on 2026-10-11 (~3:45-3:51 PM ET) and replace earlier snippet or summary values. Other blocked sites were used only through labeled search snippets.

Earl’s has the independent signals you want from a mechanic: 35 years in business, an A+ BBB rating, a verified AAA Approved listing, a long warranty, and a large, positive review base. Its own website hurts it with out-of-date and overstated claims. The “only AAA shop in Fayette County” line is wrong, since AAA lists Theo’s Automotive in PTC too. Call ahead to confirm hours and ask for a written estimate. Other platforms agree with the strong Google-derived rating. (Score 8.1 → 8.2 after the 2026-10-11 other-platform and recent-review check.) Yelp is more polarized than CARFAX and Google. (Score 8.2 → 7.9 after the browser-confirmed BBB/Yelp check.)
